I live in an apartment complex with a gym. You need an electronic key to get into it – which I don’t currently have in my possession – so I’ve been meaning to get another from the rental office. Today as I was driving past the office my intuition told me to get the key now.

Everything happens for a reason.

The office should have been open for another 20 minutes, but today it was closed. I went around the side door and saw there were still people in there; the office lady was talking to someone and beckoned me to wait a moment, which I did.

When she was finished she let me in. She had been crying. She apologized; her mother had died 2 weeks earlier and she was having a ‘moment’ so closed early today, but was happy to help me with what I needed.

I told her I was sorry about her loss, I had lost my mother some years earlier so understood just how difficult it can be. She asked me how she died (I understand first-hand how talking about such things can be comforting) and so I told her about her sudden death.

She was sorry to hear about how Mum died, and told me that although she ‘kind of’ knew that her own mother had heath issues, she didn’t realize to what extent and therefore her death was still very unexpected. Her mother had gone to the doctor and had various tests, and the doctor essentially told her she had all the makings of a heart condition. He urged her to have a procedure done, but she was a firm believer of natural remedies and believed that she could fix her heath by living a healthy lifestyle and eating right, so declined the procedure. The office lady told me she wished she had realized just how serious her mother’s condition was, but she figured she knew what her mother was doing and knew best. Had she had only known what she knows now, she would have made her mother have that procedure.

I told her she shouldn’t blame herself. I am a firm believer that when it is your time, it is your time. I said that even if she did have that procedure, she may have died on the operating table. It is not her fault for how things turned out; it was just her time and there was nothing she could have done about it.

But I know all too-well that self blame. I spoke of my own mother, and how none of us could have had any possible warning of what was to come, yet still I somehow blamed myself. Over and over I would replay in my mind the endless possibilities of how I could have somehow intervened by doing something differently, and somehow changed destiny.

But after she died, upon reflection there were many things Mum did and said that indicated that somewhere deep down she knew she was going to die. I didn’t realize it before her death, but afterwards I reflected on these strange things she she did and said, and in hindsight it was obvious that some part of her knew what was to come.

The office lady told me that it was strange I even said that, as her own mother has started saying strange things herself. She was living with her the 3 months leading up to her death, and one of the strange things her mother told her about was a dream she had, that she dreamed she was getting married.

I told her that dreaming about getting married can be symbolic of the fact you are going to die, and that was a teaching she received. While death is a terribly sad event for us here who are losing someone we love, for Spiritual Beings death is the start of a new beginning or a new chapter and a celebration, just as marriage is. Thus dreaming of getting married can often be a spiritual teaching that one is going to die.

I told her I have a book that explains some dream symbology, and I asked her to wait a moment while I went upstairs to get it for her. I came back and showed her the “Dream Symbols” chapter:

Physical death – of the person who is dreaming they are getting married, or death of the person in the marriage ceremony they are dreaming about.

She couldn’t believe it. And she couldn’t believe how I randomly turned up at that moment and embarked on this conversation with her, and how she randomly told me about this dream her mother had, like it was meant to happen.

Everything happens for a reason.

I then told her a little about astral travel, and about how some years ofter my mother’s death I found her personality in the astral and had an experience with her (which I wrote about here. I also wrote about how she died here).

I explained that a person’s personality is fully formed at about the age of 7, and it contains everything about that person in this life; all their memories, everything they learned and what we attribute to “them”. When a person dies, their consciousness (that ‘spark’ that is awake) moves on to the next stage in the wheel of life, likely to be reincarnated into another life. But just like the physical body is discarded after death in the physical plane, the personality is also discarded after death in the astral plane. When people see ghosts, they are often seeing the personalities of dead people.

I told her that finding Mum’s personality really helped me a lot in getting over the loss.

She asked me if that was really her though? I told her not ‘really’; her consciousness (the spiritual part) is who she really is, but her personality was everything that I knew her to be in this life – she looked like Mum, she smelled like Mum, she recognized me and I could hold her and hug her and hold her and we talked. Her personality was all the things I missed about her. Her consciousness was gone, and thus it was like she was in a dream. But that experience made me realize that what I was holding onto and missing so much (her personality) was not really her, and I was able to stop missing her so much after that. It gave me an insight to life that I couldn’t possibly convey in words, and it was an incredibly healing experience.

I gave her the book (it was my very last copy) and told her to read it. It talks a little about death, and it gives her real tools to actually find out and ‘know’ about death, and the ability to unlock many answers that she would be lost for right now. It really helped me a lot, and I know it will help her.

Everything happens for a reason.

Today in itself was a teaching. Largely for her, but even more so for me. The Divine is real and we are all being guided by spiritual beings all of the time, whether we recognize it or not. Nothing is chance; everything happens for a reason. What we make of the chances we are given is up to us; but we are given many chances and teachings showing us this all of the time. If you don’t believe me, then you can find this out for yourself.

Upon leaving she exclaimed what if she has a dream that she was getting married? Would this mean she was going to die? I told her no not necessarily; we just had this conversation about it so she may very well have a dream about marriage, just because it is recorded in her subconscious and seemed to be something that concerned her. To know the difference between a subconscious dream and a spiritual teaching she would need to get in touch with her intuition and learn how to ‘feel’ to interpret the real meaning of dreams. A book can only tell you so much, but to really understand them you need to discover how to unlock your intuition for yourself. But the book gives you the tools for how to do so.

(The book I gave her was “A course in Astral Travel and Dreams”, which is no longer in print but is soon to be released as a free e-book. I think you can still pick it up on Amazon though – and if this post struck a chord with you I encourage you to get it. It is an AMAZING discovery! You found my post for a reason, after-all!)

imagesThe astral plane of the 5th dimension is a very real place.  Every time we sleep we leave our physical body and go there, only normally we are unaware of this process.  I explain more about what astral travel is here.  Today I’m going to talk about what to expect when you consciously astral travel.

Everything that exists in the physical world also exists in the astral.  So if you were to project into your bedroom for example, it would look just as your bedroom would normally look in waking life.  At least it should.

However sometimes our astral experiences are not always objective.  Because of the state of our psyche, we may project images onto the astral plane from our subconscious.  These subconscious projections can cloud the reality before us and distort our view of what is really there.  These images are the things that form our dreams, but even if we are ‘awake’ and conscious in the astral realm, sometimes they can still be apparent.

The clarity of our astral experiences correlate to how aware we have been during the day.  By ‘aware’ I mean grounding yourself in the present moment with your 5 senses, focusing on the activity you are doing at any one time and breaking the continual stream of thoughts that keep us in a perpetual day-dream.  When we are aware we activate our consciousness, which gives us the ability to truly perceive what is real.  If we have been stuck in our mind (subconscious) during the day, then this will continue when we go to sleep at night and cloud our perception.

To have truly objective and clear astral experiences, a serious work needs to be undertaken on our psyche to eliminate subconscious elements and increase our consciousness. But in the beginning, we need learn how to discern what is real and what isn’t.  To do this we need to develop our intuition.

Intuition is a faculty of the consciousness.  It is that ‘hunch’ or ‘gut feeling’ you get about something that is beyond the rational mind. With intuition we can tap into information from higher dimensions and become aware of things we would not otherwise be able to know.  By developing intuition, you can begin to use it as a tool to discern wether what you are seeing is real or just a projection of the mind.  In a previous post I talk about how to temporarily activate intuition (and other psychic faculties) with mantras.  You can read about it here.

Because the astral is a real place, you can meet up with other people there.  If they are also having a conscious astral experience then you can interact with each other, and when you return to the physical both have recollection of the experience.  If they are asleep and dreaming however, they may or may not be able to see you through the subconscious projections of their mind, and may or may not remember you in their dream (depending on the level of lucidity at the time).

Matter behaves differently in the astral than it does in the physical world.  So over there you can fly and go through objects such as walls etc.  You can breathe underwater, and in outer space!  You can’t hurt yourself like you can in the physical, after-all your physical body is safe and sound in your bed.  As such there is no need to be frightened.  In fact, big emotions like fear or excitement will simply cause you to return to your physical body and cut your astral experience short.

silver-chordYou don’t have to worry about not being able to get back to your body – there is a silver chord that connects your astral body to your physical body, although I have never seen it myself (but I haven’t looked for it either).  Because of this chord there is always a connection between the 2 bodies, and if you want to go back to your physical body you just have to will yourself there and you will return instantly.  You will actually find it is much harder to stay in the astral than you think!

You can travel pretty much anywhere you can think of;  to other countries, or even other planets in the solar system!  There are various ways you can travel in the astral;  you can walk just like you would here, but it can be much faster to fly.  Alternatively you can visualise a place and find yourself there instantly.  My favourite method of travel is to ask my Divine Mother to take me somewhere.

We have higher aspects of our own inner being, our Divine Mother and Father, who help and guide us throughout our lives.  Unfortunately, most people are completely unaware of this and don’t develop a relationship with their Divine Parents.  But know it or not, they are always there for us.  So when I want to go somewhere in the astral, I ask my Divine Mother to take me, and as I do so I take a little jump.  It feels like I am being pulled backwards at incredible speed and in a second or two I find myself at the destination.

In addition to our own being, there are other spiritual beings that reside in the astral, beings that have awakened spiritually.  These have been depicted throughout history and in religion as “Angels”.  Spiritual beings (usually your Divine Mother or Father) can give us spiritual teachings, both during conscious astral experiences, and in our dreams.

The language of the astral is symbolic, and as such teachings are usually given symbolically.  We may be taken to a place that has significant meaning for us, or alternatively objects may be placed in front of us for our learning.  Again, intuition is required to decipher what the symbology means, and to determine if what we are seeing is an actual teaching and not a subconscious projection of the mind.

There are some universal symbols, however it is important to understand symbology can be very personal to the individual, and what may mean something for one person in that particular context may mean something different for someone else.  As such it is imperative to develop your intuition to be able to understand what a teaching means for you.

It is also important not to share your teachings with anyone else;  they are for you and you alone, specific to your personal development and understanding.  A level of trust is bestowed upon you when you receive a teaching, so by sharing the information with someone else you break that trust and may not receive anymore teachings for a while;  until such time the spiritual beings determine you are again worthy to receive them.  So don’t share even your dreams with anyone.  If you really need help in deciphering your dreams, the book “When I Go to Sleep” touches on the esoteric meaning of some symbols and numbers.

If you still don’t understand them, write them down so you can revisit them later.  It is important to record your dreams in the morning, as there can be significant spiritual teachings there that may not make sense now, but will after some time.  I have had dreams that initially made no sense whatsoever;  however 2 years later I revisited them and was amazed at the richness of the teachings there.

One time in the astral I asked my Divine Mother for a teaching, and as I did so I took a little jump.  I was immediately taken to a significant place from my childhood, and in the room something was placed there for my learning.  On the table there was a clock radio, so I paid special attention to the numbers shown on it as my intuition told be that the numbers were part of the teaching.  Then I began to doubt myself, and thought that maybe I was being shown time (seeing it was a clock radio), which can have a different meaning to ordinary numbers.  Then the numbers on the clock radio started flipping over, and another time was shown.  I carefully memorised both sets of numbers, and when I woke up I immediately wrote them down.  When I added each set of numbers up, and they added up to be the same number.  This showed me that my intuition (that initial ‘hunch’ I had) was correct and I was being shown a number with a significant meaning, and not time.

In addition to spiritual beings in the astral, there are some negative beings as well.  It’s a bit like how in real life there are some good people and bad people, the same applies there.  There is no need to be frightened of them though, they can’t physically hurt you.  If you run into one, they may try to scare you or to trick you to prevent you from gaining the valuable spiritual knowledge you can get there.

One morning I was lying in bed.  I was actually in the astral although I didn’t realise this, I thought I was in the physical.  There was what looked like a dark shadow in the corner of my bedroom, and when I noticed it, it jumped out at me and sat on top of me.  It looked like black smoke, it didn’t really have a shape as such, and it had this hideous, chilling laugh.  I couldn’t move and it felt like I was paralysed (this can happen when you haven’t fully split and are half in the physical and half in the astral, and these entities can sometimes use this time to take advantage of the situation where you are most vulnerable).

I had never heard of negative entities before and I didn’t know what it was, and I was terrified.  My intuition told me that this thing was just trying to scare me rather than hurt me, and its laugh was taunting me.  Despite this I was terribly frightened and struggled and tried to scream, and at that moment I woke up in my bed in my bed and the thing was gone.

Again, the book “When I Go to Sleep” explains about negative entities in more detail, and it also contains some recitations you can say that dispel negativity and make these things go away.  Now that I know that they can’t hurt me, and being equipped with the ability to dispel them, I have no fear of them.  There is really nothing to be frightened of in the astral, you are very safe there (as safe as sleeping!)

The best part about astral travel is that you can verify things that you would have no way of verifying in the physical, things like what happens when you die, past lives, the purpose of life etc.  You can get direct spiritual teachings about things like karma, creation and the wheel of life, which are things I am currently seeking to investigate myself.  In another post I talked about how I’ve investigated part of what happens when you die, and you can read about the experience here.

With this wealth of hidden knowledge to be gained in the astral, it is important to use your time there wisely.  It takes a lot of effort to gain astral experiences, so instead of wasting them flying around aimlessly and having fun (which may be useful at first in becoming familiar with the astral) you would be much wiser to use your time to seek real knowledge!
