When my brother reached his teens he started having strange things happen to him at night.
He would wake up completely paralysed, unable to move as though an invisible force was holding him down. Sometimes he would hear strange whirring noises too, other times he would feel like his bed was vibrating. He couldn’t speak or call out for help and it used to terrify him. He would struggle and struggle and eventually would break out of it and find himself in his bed, alone and unhurt, with nothing there.
He called this phenomenon ‘night demons’, and there were countless times he would wake me up crying because the ‘night demons’ got him again. This went on for years.
One day I was reading a book called “Journeys Out of the Body” by a guy called Robert Monroe, a highly respected American Business man who started having spontaneous out-of-body experiences. The symptoms he described were strikingly similar to those my brother was experiencing. I told him about it and suggested that rather than ‘night demons’ attacking him, maybe he was just having an out-of-body experience?
A few weeks later it happened to him again. At first he struggled against it, but then he remembered what I said and decided to relax and go with it. Soon the paralysis, noises and vibrations passed and he projected out of his body into his bedroom!
His bedroom looked exactly the same as it normally did. He walked out down the hall and into the lounge, investigating what the astral plane looked like. It looked just like the physical.
In the lounge he tripped on the rug and started to fall, but he didn’t fall exactly – he lost balance and kind of floated. But it shocked him and the next thing he was back in his body in bed… or so he thought!
Amazed at his experience he got out of bed and went to turn on the light in his bedroom. Only he couldn’t – his hand went straight through the wall! At first he didn’t realise the strangeness of this and tried to turn on the switch from the other side (of the wall). Then it dawned on him that something wasn’t right – his hand shouldn’t be able to go through walls!!!
Immediately he began to panic, thinking that something had gone horribly wrong. He ran into the hall and started screaming to his flatmate for help. All of a sudden with a jolt he was back in his body – for real this time – and wide awake!
This was his first of many out-of-body experiences. Later we both took a free course in “Dreams and OBEs” run by Gnosticweb, which taught us what the astral plane was all about, and how to have them consciously. I will share some of my experiences with you through this blog.

Yes! I read all three books of Rober A Monroe, three times over, but have never been able to produce them at will, under control, which is my goal. RAM was an enlightened, curious soul. En example how our inner worlds can be explored in a scientific manner and successfully.
I am also weary that UFO abductions happen in this same manner, through the astral world, since many of the encounters and abductions I have read about seem to indicate that they move in that dimension and can control our experience to the highest detail.
I wanted to confirm that what you say is what is indeed happening. With the years the situation has lessened to the extent that I long for them to be able to explore and gain knowledge of myself and the world we cannot see.

Yeah I didn’t have success with Monroe’s books either – it wasn’t until I took the Dreams and OBE course that I started to experience purposeful astral travel.
I don’t have any personal experience with aliens myself, however Samael Aun Weor (the founder of modern Gnosis) claims to have found through his own astral investigations that there is alien life on the planets Mars and Venus in the astral realm, and that these beings are much more advanced and enlightened than we humans are; in fact compared to them we are barbaric animals with the degradation of our society, wars, starvation, destruction of the planet etc. If they are more advanced, enlightened beings, it would make sense they could operate purposefully within the higher dimensions.
In the last week of the Dreams and OBE course, there is always a group exercise in that all Gnosticweb students from around the world collectively try to achieve the same goal; this is usually to visit some famous landmark of spiritual significance to investigate it. Often the planets Mars and Venus are the said goals, and I have spoken to other students who claim to have been able to verify this to be true, and have investigated advanced alien life on these planets.
I can’t say for certainty as I have not done this myself, but it is something I would like to personally check out.
But I do know from personal experience that there is definitely other (non-human) life in the astral realm – not necessarily ‘alien’, but other entities – I know this for a fact as I have personally encountered them.
